The Importance of Tools Calibration in the Manufacturing Process

Calibration provides credibility to the measurements taken by measuring instruments, including measuring tools used in production and internal inspection within the industrial plant  - namely, to calibrate measuring tools within a specific accuracy range and tolerance. This specified range will serve as a reference point for all manufactured tools. Buyers will receive an inspection certificate and a calibration certificate of those tools with extensive details on resolution, range, accuracy, and environmental factors that may cause inaccurate results such as temperature and humid working conditions.

After a while, the measuring tools will start to lose their efficiency and the readings may slightly divert in accuracy. *The drift in measuring tools is common in tools after prolonged use, resulting in inaccurate measurements.  Although calibration may fix this issue, it solely depends on the conditions of the tool whether it can be fixed or not

The CQI-9 standard focus on the continuous development of the heat treatment process with an emphasis on preventing defects and maintaining quality by ensuring measuring tools used in heat treatment undergo standardized calibration by an ISO/IEC 17025-certified laboratory. Under the CQI-9 standard, all information can be cross-checked under the authority of the NIST and NIMT.
