The Importance of Tools Calibration in the Manufacturing Process
Calibration provides credibility to the measurements taken by measuring instruments, including measuring tools used in production and internal inspection within the industrial plant - namely, to calibrate measuring tools within a specific accuracy range and tolerance. This specified range will serve as a reference point for all manufactured tools. Buyers will receive an inspection certificate and a calibration certificate of those tools with extensive details on resolution, range, accuracy, and environmental factors that may cause inaccurate results such as temperature and humid working conditions.
After a while, the measuring tools will start to lose their efficiency and the readings may slightly divert in accuracy. This natural decline in accuracy and trustworthiness directly affects the production process, therefore periodical calibration is required to restore the accuracy and trustworthiness of the measuring tool, hence the importance of calibration.
*The drift in measuring tools is common in tools after prolonged use, resulting in inaccurate measurements. Although calibration may fix this issue, it solely depends on the conditions of the tool whether it can be fixed or not

ISO/IEC 17025 is the selected standard for assessing the capabilities of inspection and calibration laboratories under the authority of the International Standards Organization (ISO) and under the International Electro-Technical Commission (IEC)
ISO/IEC 17025 covers the quality management of laboratories and set on scope of service, technical requirements, and factors affecting calibration, to ensure the quality is up to international global standards.

Heat Treatment: CQI-9 Standard
The automobile industry has adopted the CQI-9 Standard (Continuous Quality Improvement) for the process of manufacturing automobile parts. The CQI-9 standard focus on the continuous development of the heat treatment process with an emphasis on preventing defects and maintaining quality by ensuring measuring tools used in heat treatment undergo standardized calibration by an ISO/IEC 17025-certified laboratory. Under the CQI-9 standard, all information can be cross-checked under the authority of the NIST and NIMT.
