CALIBRATION STANDARD

A thermocouple is two dissimilar conductors joined at one end. The junction produces a voltage that varies with temperature, and reading that voltage gives the temperature. It is the most widely used temperature sensor in industrial furnaces.

It's also the part that gets overlooked until it fails. A furnace running on a drifting or poorly calibrated thermocouple holds the wrong temperature, and the damage usually shows up in the workpiece before anyone suspects the instrument. Beyond supply, the team designs and assembles control panels, runs them in on site, and handles overhaul and repair. Calibration goes through an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratory, and on-site temperature uniformity evaluation is available for furnaces that have to meet a survey standard.

A thermocouple is two dissimilar electrical conductors joined to form a junction. That junction produces a voltage which varies with temperature, through the thermoelectric effect, and reading the voltage gives you the temperature. It is the most widely used temperature sensor in industry.

In a furnace it is also one of the main spare parts. Without it the furnace cannot hold a setpoint, and a thermocouple that has drifted or been calibrated badly will damage the workpiece long before anyone suspects the instrument rather than the process.
